iBeacon Tech Brings Murder Mysteries Back to Life!
Murder mysteries from Murder Inc take much from traditional murder mysteries events as team members work together to investigate and solve a crime using a series of clues provided by the event hosts. However, with Murder Inc’s new digital version, everything a team needs to solve the murder is delivered via a multimedia app – from the initial inspector’s briefing, through interviews with characters, video, documentary evidence (or red herrings!), and interactive puzzles, codes and ciphers.
Founder of Murder Inc Joe Moretti said “We originally created Murder Inc after seeing a gap in the market for a fresh approach to team-building events. They have become stale over the years so we decided to create an engaging and interesting way for groups to work together using modern, interactive technology.” (Source: Somerset News).
Everything you need to hold your own Murder Inc event is provided in a single box containing a quick setup guide, USB drive, plus 6 Locly battery-powered iBeacon devices which are easy to set up and can be used anywhere, time and time again. A Wi-Fi connection is required to initially download the app from Google Play or App Store, but once installed all the information is available offline, with no further access to Wi-Fi required – this allows it to be played across a variety of locations.
There are currently three exciting investigations to choose from for team building and events for adults, Auction House Atrocity, Death Comes to Donnington and Film Star Fatality. A fourth The Master Chef Murder aimed at ages 9-12 focusing on literacy work is also now available.
Joe suggests that the mysteries can be used as an ice-breaker or generic ‘corporate’ activity and are ideal for encouraging teamwork, communication, collaboration, problem solving, creative thinking and the strengthening of relationships. Joe is an independent education consultant, teacher, Apple Distinguished Educator and eBook author, Joe also provides simplified murder mystery investigations for schools to use in the classroom. The cases are now available to purchase from the Murder Inc website. Here’s where you can find out more:
